Believe it or not they have snow tubing in Texas. Once a year! Actually we do experience 1-2 snow falls year. Last year we received 4 inches of snow and the kids had a snow day!!!!

In Bethlehem we got to see a live Nativity with animals, make bread and pottery, dye head bands, play with wooden toys, see how tools were made etc....

Right before school started, We took the kids to San Antonio to see the temple. They had been talking alot in their primary class about temple and they wanted to see our temple. Afer the temple we went to the zoo. I was amazed at how beautiful of a zoo it was. So many big trees and flowers. The butterfly exibit was amazing.

Summer Fun

Our family got the opporunity to go to california for a month in July. We were sooo excited to see family that we had not seen since we moved to texas. We stayed for 3 weeks at my parents house in Los Gatos, Ca and then one week in Hollister, Ca at Justin's brother Jason's house. We did soooo many things from visiting grandparent to great grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins to going to the beach, parks, lakes, ammusment parks, zoo, and musems. I don't have pics of everything but here are a few.

Here is Brock in the midddle of doing a back flip (with uncle B's help) off the boat. I accidentally erased the picture when I was editing earlier. SO I had to repost it here.

After strawberry picking we went on a hike at a state park near the beach.

And of Course we took them to the Boardwalk. This was something that they has been looking forward to the whole trip.

Zack (one of the kids cousins) was super inventive and

rigged up a hose to the slide at Jason and Becky's house.

Fourth of July was a Blast! We went to Justin's

sister Shannon's house for a BBQ and fireworks. Kids

always get sooooo excited to do fireworks. Brock was a little

pyro this year. We had a very hard time keeping him

away from the bigger ones. He wanted to start them just like

his older cousins.

Justin got to go surfing 3-4 times. He loved it! Here are some pics of him when he went surfing with Bryce.

I got this aweome pass for $100 here in Austin for the austin childrens museum. Well, it ended up that that pass got us into Happy Hallow, the Discovery museum, and the zuzuem in San Franisco for free. Yeah!! Here we are on our 3rd or 4th trip to Happy Hallow. The kids loved the petting zoo and the RIDES!

Joint 10 Year Anniversary with Sam and Alisa Hunter. Royal Caribbean Voyager of the Seas. Cozumel and Costa Maya Mexico and Roatan, Honduras.

Rock Wall on the 15 th Deck on the ship. This was the first time I have ever climbed anything. Sam was a natural.

Nice smooch at sunset somewhere in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico.

In the car in Honduras on the way to ride the Zip lines. Also below a fresh water lagoon 1 mile wide and 35 miles long in Costa Maya, Mexico.

We saw shows every night in a theatre that probably holds 1500 plus people. There was over 3200 people on this ship minus the 1200 crew members so they had two showings of everything every night. One show we saw was actually in another theatre that had olympic ice skaters perform.

Feeling the wind and enjoying the breeze. The ship from bow to stern is taller than the empire state building if you stand it vertically cruises at a speed of 23 nauts (28 MPH roughly).

There are usually two formal nights during the week.

First full day of sailing was chilly from that point on we were talking upper 80's light breezes. Every port and destination was clear skies and beautiful. Please note below that the tatoo you see below is a two (2) day temporary and these are all paid actors. Do not attemt to get a real one at home. Something we all decided to get while on board after too many virgin drinks.

The Zip lines in Honduras was a blast. We started off inexperienced and all left pro Zippers. There was times where we were 150 feet above the canyons below. We got to Zip across 2.5 miles of jungle.

Janae zipping away. She loved it and was a natural. Didn't fear this event one bit. I think our tour guide had a crush on her because they went doubles on one section.

The beauty of RC Voyager of the Seas use to be the largest ship there are now three bigger ships.

Costa Maya (Majahual) we had authentic mexican food next to the lagoon with like seven different shades of greens and blues.

The lunch was unexpected but I guess apart of the tour.

This canoe was made of cement I swear! We were laughing so hard I made us tip over. Alisa was petrified the whole time.

This was a blast renting scooters in Cozumel, Mexico. We cruised probably half the island, shopped, got massages, and layed out. We chilled and kept our last port open to whatever.

Hot tubbing was a regular. We met alot of cool couples on the ship.

Some of the ancient Mayan Ruins in Costa Maya, Mexico. These temples were amazing.....Just so you know the world won't end as we know it on December 21, 2012 but something will happen at exactly 11:11 PM where and how who knows? If your'e unsure do some research.

Another candid moment snorkeling in Honduras. Honduras boasts the most coral reef shoreline than anywhere in the world, We snorkeled in the blue channel.

West Bay Beach in Honduras is rated as one of the top ten (10) beaches in the world. I mean just look behind us. You can see probably 75 feet deep. White sand, palms incredible place.

And of course all good things come to an end! This time we won't wait as long to do this again.

Justin and I started a new reward system a couple of months ago in which the kids have to do nice things and obey rule and then they get fuzzies for their fuzzy Jar. Well after two months they finally filled up their jars and as a reward Caleah and Brock wanted to go to Chuck E Cheese. Aubrey and Peyton went horse back riding. Here are some pics from the Horse back riding. Aubrey and Peyton Loved riding their our Chica. The Stables are about 1 mile from our house. Peyton Found some beautiful flowers.

Justin built a skateboard ramp in our backyard! This is something Justin has been wanting to do for years! He finally just did it. It is not completely done yet but it is skateable! He did really good job on it! The kids have so much fun on it and are really starting to get good balance! And of Course Justin LOVES it! He is out there almost every day trying to get his groove back! I love to see the excitement in his eyes.

New stuff for January

Ok so here is some of the new stuff that went on during January!

I fianlly got me new calling and I am the Beehive advisor in Young Womens. I love my new calling! It is really fun to teach the girls and get to know them! They also have a new personal progress program and I have been encourage to do it right along with the young women and earn a new medallion! I am really excited about it. And have already finnished my first project. I had to develop a skill and then teach it to someone. So I learned how to make fabric headboards off the internet and made 2 of them for Aubrey and Caleah's room. and then I taught Justin how to make them! They turned out really cute.

Aubrey, Brock, and Caleah are now in the CTR 4 class at church. They had a primary activity where they got to have breakfast with their new teacher (Sister Karloscar). They really like her and love being BIG 4 year olds and not sunbeams any more.

On Christmas Eve We had our anual nativity play and talent program! This year was our smoothest play yet! The children really got into their parts this year! Aubrey was espeically excited to be the angel and get to stand higher everyone else to say her part! Brock would not let Caleah hold baby Jesus! He said "I am the Jesus's Daddy. I get to hold him!" Thank goodness Caleah was ok with that! :) It did really turn out cute!

Random Things Over the last few weeks

We went to a Christmas lights show at a park by our house! It was a light show that was syncronized to music. It was really fun! The kids Loved Dancing to the music!

The Silly Sowards!

For Thanksgiving we went to Las Vegas to see my brother Bryce and his now wife, Jenny Get married! It was a Beautiful wedding and We are SOOOO Happy for them! Aubrey, Brock, Caleah, and Peyton were flower kids and had the most fun dancing ever! They loved playing with their cousins and grandparents andof course going swimmimg. But I think their favorite part was spending a coulpe of Days with Bryce before he got married!! On this trip I forgot to bring pullups for Aubrey and Peyton. So I ended up Putting them to bed with out one! Well, They both woke up dry, So I tried it again the next night and the woke up dry again! They ended up sleeping dry for the whole week! All my kids are now completely potty trained both day and Night! I no longer have to buy Diapers! Yah-who!:) We never thought this day would come!

The hot Tub and pool were very nice and What a view! It was soooo nice with all the stress we have been through lately, with trying to get our insurance business going, to get away and forget about it for a couple of days! We were able to come back refreshed and ready to get back to work!

Justin helped Brock and Aubrey Boogie Board for the first time! They did a great job! I was very pround of them for trying! They got cold though atfter a few tries and wanted to stop! It was only about 70 degrees outside because of a storm comming in so we only spent one morning on the beach the rest of the time we were in the Hot tub!! :) :)

Galvaston Beach

We decided to get away for the weekend a couple of weeks ago. So we rented a condo down in Galvaston on the Beach! It took just under 4 hours for us to get there! NOt too bad! The kids loved playing in the sand, buliding a sand castle, and especially finding Seashells!

The water was about 71 degress! The only thing that we were not used to was watching out for Jelly Fish! They were all over the Sand from the earlier High Tide! I was a little worried about us going in the water but after asking MANY other people with kids on the beach, I was told that the water is safe and people rarely get stung! But if they do get stung just put Vinegar on it!

Carving pumpkins this year was soo much fun! Aubrey, Brock and Caleah really got into it this year! They drew the faces on their pumkins all by themseleves and then the cut them out almost all by themselves! Justin and I were amazed at how little we had to do! They turned out really cute too! Peyton of course needed help but she loved helping clean up the pumpkin seeds by eating them right from the pumpkin! YUCK!

We also had a couple of new firsts this week! Aubrey was able to ride her bike without training wheels by herself for 4 laps around the court! YEAH AUBREY! Now she just needs to remember to Look where she is going! She is always running into things! She so reminds me of myself growing up! I am just waiting for her to walk into a pole!:) And we also had our firt primary program today! Aubrey, Brock, and Caleah each a a small part that they said! They talked about praying and reading scriptures with their families! They also sang their little hearts out! It was sooo cute! The funny thing was Justin , Peyton and I had to keep moving spots because Brock would start crying if he could not see us! So if some taller children came up to sing then we would have to move. Then some other kids would move and block our view from Brock and then we would have to move again. We were playing musical chairs trying to keep hime happy! But still the spirit in those little guys is so strong! I loved watching them!

On the hayride, they had all these different scenes with scarecrows set up. For example, The mechanic shop or the kitchen or Fishing. It was very entertaining! We even stopped at a big oak tree that the kids got to climb!

We had a lot going on this week! My parents (Marciel and Nancy) came out to visit us for the first time since we moved here to Austin! It was sooo nice to have them come! We loved letting them see our new house and ward. And of course the kids LOVED seeing them! They helped me take the kids to the Pumpkin Patch! It was all the way in Marble Falls( which is about an hour and a 1/2 from South Austin). But it was worth the drive! They had corn mazes, hayrides, scarcrow stuffing, pumkins, trees to climb, petting zoo!

We took all of our kids to Disneyland at the end of Feb. for the first time. They Loved every minute of it! Aubrey's favorite ride was thae Carousel because she LOVES horses! Brock loved the Buzz lightyear ride and being a Jedi knight (luke skywalker)! Caleah LOVED meeting Snow White her most favorite princess in the whole world! Peyton Loved all the rides but I think she looked most amazed in the "It's a small world ride!" Justin and I LOVED watching our children's eyes light of with delight! We were able to do the whole trip all on our own amazingly! We just had to be very prepared! We rented two double strollers! It worked great! We only had a couple of breakdowns from the kids when we had to wait in line for more than ten minutes! They just didn't get the whole I have to wait my turn thing! Other than that everything went really smoothly! It was definately worth every penny!

Skiing

So Justin took Aubrey and Brock skiing for the first time and they did really well with this harness that Justin uses with them to help them learn to ski! By the last 2 runs they made it down the hill without falling! Aubrey ended up having a 102 temp fever from the flu that didn't start until she was up there but insisted on skiing anyways! She was just soo determined to keep on going! What a Girl!

Kay, so funny story! Well, at least I look back on it now as a funny story! So it is finally Caleah's turn to go skiing! We have Justin's brother, Brandon's family in town to visit! And Justin convinces me that we should try to take all three of the triplets together! I say but how are you going to take two kids down the hill by yourself! He confidently says that Aubrey and Brock are so good that he should have no problems! Okay I said! and SO we got a babysitter for Peyton and off we went! We get up there and there are high winds and it is dumping snow! Bad Sign already! We make get up to the top of the hill for our first run! I have just Caleah so I take off and have a great time taking her down. Meanwhile, Justin has Aubrey and Brock. Ha HA! If you can imagine.... he is trying to stear with the leashes one child with his right hand and the other child with his left! I dosen't work so well! the kids keep crahing into eachother or one falls and the other dosen't or their skies cross, in each cases scenerio, they all fall down! Now this is happening every 2 feet all the way down the hill. Caleah and I make it down three time to Justin's one. Justin decides to try going up one more time! I meet him up at the top! Aubrey is crying because she wants a turn with me! So I switch Caleah for Aubrey! The wind and the snow pick up! Caleah got upset because she wanted Justin to use the leashes but he was fed up with falling every two feet so he just held onto their backpacks to hold them up! Caleah started screaming! Brock was cold and tired so he started screaming! Aubrey refused to wear a ski mask so her face freezing! So she started screaming! We must have been a site comming down that hill because we just wanted to get to the bottom as fast a we could! So we held the kids tight and flew down that hill! We make it to the lodge! All the kids still screaming! Caleah was now upset because she had to go! I don't blame her! This was supposed to be her turn! And of course I have women coming up to me and instead of helping they are trying to tell me how to parent! " You have to make sure you validate their feelings!" one of the said! Oh give me a break! They're three, there are three of them and they are throughing a tantrum!!!! Then Brandon asks us to take his three year old home with us ( which is fine. He is happy but done with skiing) so they can stay a little longer! Man, we must have looked crazy walking out of there with four three year olds!!! 45 min later we finally have them all in the car, they have stopped crying and are drinking hot chocolate, talking about what a great time they had skiing! Justin and I are exhausted as we drive home!!! Never Again We VOW!!

Okay! So I know that I have been really Bad at posting! So here is a few highlight from the past few months!! First is Christmas! WE has a wonderful Christmas Eve and Christmas morning! This was our first true christmas at home with just our family! Justin built a nativity manger for our play! Aubrey was our donkey, Brock a shepard, Caleah was the angel, Peyton was Mary! It was very short but soooo cute! Christmas morning the kids were all amazed that Santa actually ate the cookies and milk and brought them Presents! YEah!

Thanksgiving was a BLAST!! We had all of my family come up to our place this year! Yep! Everyone Aaron, Bryce, Ryan, Melinda (and their children) David, James, Joseph, Mark, and of course Grandma and Grandpa! Lots of good food and family! Aubrey, Brock, and Caleah LOVED play with their cousins! We then went up to South Tahoe, Where my parents got a Timeshare and stayed for the weekend. We went on nature hikes, played in the sand on the beach, hot tubbed, and made lots of crafts with the kids! And Yes, Aubrey did have her hair cut. She once again decided to cut her own hair and so we had to chop it all off!! She absolutely loves it though. She goes around the house and looks in all the mirrors saying " I am sooo beautiful! I love my haircut!" It is pretty cute, especially when she lets my style! Which is not very often!

Halloween at the Sowards was lots of fun! Aubrey was a witch, Brock a T-rex, Caleah Snow White, and Peyton was a fairy for the church party and a ladybug for trick or treating. Aren't they cute!!

Okay, so we decided to get a new Dog. His name is Bear! He is a Leonberger! He is a fantastic family dog! He is so gentle and calm with the kids and the kids love him! They roll and climb all over him and he dosen't do a thing!! We love him!!!

First day of Preschool

Today was Aubrey, Brock, & Caleah's first day of Preschool. YEAH! They are growing up! They LOVED preschool!! It went from 10:45-2:15. I was in parents orientation for the first hour and I went in to check on them after. I asked them how they were doing and Aubrey says "Fine MOM, I'm going to eat pizza! You can go now! See Ya Later!" She comes and gives me a kiss and says "Bye Mom" What No crying! I was amazed. Brock and Caleah were not quite so verbal about their confidence but pretty much acted the same way. They were soooo excited and ready to be there!!

POOR CALEAH

Two week ago on Sept. 25, Caleah was wrestling with her siblings and Bryce. Well, brock got a little impatient for his turn and push Caleah off of Bryce. She fell and hit her Forhead on the edge of the fireplace. OUCH! She got a pretty deep gash and Justin and I took her to the ER. The doctor used dermabond to glue it shut and she was as good a new. Well, 3 days later she woke up and her whole face was swollen and distorted. The wound had gotten infected!. I rushed her back to the ER. They had to cut her wound back open to get the infection out. Caleah was such a BRAVE girl. To Mommy's horror they didn't numb the wound. They put mineral oil on to soften the Dermabond and then used a scalple to cut it open. AHHH! She did pretty good with it though. Cried just a little bit. I was very very proud of her. Well, as soon as they got the infection out the swelling stated to immediatly go down. They put her on antibiotics and could not restitch the cut because it would get infected again. So she is going to have a pretty good scar. The pics are of a week ago and today. In the pic of a week ago, that is blue marker on her face. She is not bruised. :)

Peyton still is not walking but she is standing up all by herself now. SHe was so cute today because I had music on and the triplets were dancing and she wanted to dance too. So she stood up and started bouncing up and down. She was laughing and trying to sing with the triplets. It was hilarious!

camping at grover hot springs

We went on our last camping trip for the Summer last weekend. We went to a place called Grover Hot Springs. It is about 45 mins south of Carson City, NV. We had a fun time. The camp ground had 2 pools and a stream. We had a good time hiking, swimming, and throwing rocks. Peyton was little miss adventurous this time. Every time we put her down she would take off to try to climb a rock or fallen tree. She also learned to say "Cheese" for the camera. Brock also was really trying to swim at the pool. He is a little fish!!

the reno zoo

I took the kids to our little Reno zoo a couple weeks ago. We were only there for about 30 minutes because Brock ended up throwing up all over me. Poor guy! He had gotten a 24 hour flu that pretty much started at the Zoo! So I think we are going to have to go back! :)

Peyton starting to walk

Peyton is now 13 and 1/2 months. She is starting to try to walk a little bit. She will not walk unless she is holding on to something so we found this pink car that Aubrey and Caleah used, put it on the grass (so it wouldn't roll too fast) and off she went. What a cutie pie!!!! At our last doctors apointment she was in the 97% for height and weight. She is already in 2T clothes. We think she is going to take after her grandmas and be the tallest one in kindergarden. We will see... She is growing up soooo fast.

So Aubrey and Caleah decided to cut their own hair on Saturday. I gave them some kid scissors so they could help Justin cut the Roses in our backyard. But they decided it would be more fun to cut their own hair instead. Needless to say "They Butchered their hair!" I am sooooo sad. We took them to a professional to try to fix it but not too much could be done. I have posted some pics of them right after they cut it. I will try to take some of their Semi-FIXED do's and post them in the next couple of days.

Our first real camping trip

This last weekend we went on our first camping trip. We went to a campground along the Truckee River near Lake Tahoe. The kids a fantastic time. We found 2 streams perfect streams that the kids just played in all day. Bryce , Justin, and I showed them how to skip rocks, throw stick, make tiny rafts, wade up the stream. They loved it. They were so beat that they we to bed at 5:45pm that night. Other than Aubrey getting a spranged finger and a few melt downs ( tantrums) the kids were really good! As long as they stay busy they are happy.
